Harbingers’ Magazine Nepali Newsroom was launched in 2023 by Jefferson He, the current editor-in-chief of Harbingers’. Ten students from Mountain Children’s Home in Dandagaun, Kathmandu, Nepal, aged 11–17, enrolled in journalism classes held twice a week and contributed as a group to the magazine.
In September 2024, the project was extended and strengthened by adding two English classes weekly, and five students—Binita Nepali (15), Kriti Tamang (17), Rakshya B.K. (14), Samuna B.K. (13), and Santoshi Gurung (14)—moved to a newly created Intermediate group, where they worked on their own articles.
Five students – Kalpana B.K.(12), Laxman B.K. (12), Om Lal Shrestha (18), Pratima Chaudhary (12) and Ramita Chadara (14) – are in the Beginner group.
Jefferson He coordinates and edits Harbingers’ Magazine Nepali Newsroom. Bal Krishna Sah (The Himalayan Times) is the primary journalism and English instructor. Freelance journalist Shristi Kafle contributes two journalism sessions a month. Roshany Ale Magar offers weekly dancing and singing classes.
