These remarks came after increased attention to the project was generated by the Democratic Party politicians and supporters. Biden released an Instagram video, in which he said: “Project 2025 will destroy America. Look it up.”

Project 2025, created in April 2023 and developed by The Heritage Foundation, is a plan meant to build on four pillars that will, collectively, pave the way for an effective conservative administration.

It compiles the works of multiple former Trump advisers and received contributions from over 100 conservative American organisations, and outlines large-scale reforms for the whole federal government, states’ rights, and other nation-spanning issues.

The plan has been controversial due to some of its proposals, which include outlawing of pornography, laws against using a student’s preferred pronouns without parental consent, and significantly limiting access to abortion.

On the official Project 2025 X account, a spokesperson responded to the noise regarding Trump’s statement with the following words: “As we’ve been saying for more than two years now, Project 2025 does not speak for any candidate or campaign”.

Trump’s campaign has announced following the establishment of the project that the only official program that Trump will stick to will be the already existing Agenda 47.
